Thanet Liberal Democrats have expressed concern over Thanet District Councilís budgetary process.
The ruling Tory group has called a special meeting of the Council Cabinet to approve the budget on 30th September - the last possible date for doing so.
"This shows that the Tories have failed to get control of the Council budget", said Councillor Trevor Emes, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Bradstowe Ward. "Calling a special meeting introduces unnecessary pressure into what should be a considered and deliberative process. We are worried that the pressure of a last minute meeting could lead the Tories to make a bad decision, which will ultimately affect all the residents of Thanet."
