Broadstairs and St Peter's Liberal Democrats are calling on Thanet District Council to provide some public conveniences in or near Pierremont Park in Broadstairs. Since the closure of the toilets in the park, the nearest conveniences are across the High Street in Croft's Place or down at Viking Bay.
Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Pat Cradduck said, "As a holiday town, it is a disgrace that there is no toilet provision in or near Pierremont Park. Families with young children are forced to cross the busy and dangerous High Street to use the toilets in the Croft's Place car park."
"We think it is imperative that we provide our many visitors with adequate facilities to enjoy their stay. The Council should provide clean and safe toilet facilities on the South side of the High Street for residents and visitors alike", said Mrs Cradduck.
