Concern over Traffic Speed

May 18, 2004 1:10 PM

Local Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to cut traffic speeds in Broadstairs, in response to feedback from local Bradstowe residents.

"I have been contacted by a number of people who are concerned about traffic speed in the ward", said Bradstowe Councillor Trevor Emes. "They have mentioned a number of particular blackspots, including Stone Road, the High Street, Albion Street and Carlton Avenue."

"There are a number of stages to this campaign. The council will only respond if it thinks a lot of people want improvements. At the moment, I need more evidence of public concern over speeding."

Where are your local speeding blackspots? When are the problems at their worst? First thing in the morning? In the evening?

Please call Councillor Trevor Emes on 600730 and let him know.

With your help, we can build a strong case to present to the Council.

Please help us to keep death off the roads.
