1,000 new homes for Westwood Cross

The traffic problems at Westwood Cross are about to get even worse. There are plans to build 1,000 new houses on the field opposite the new shopping centre.
The road network is already struggling to cope. At peak times, traffic is at a standstill. What will happen once these houses have been built and there are hundreds more vehicles on the road? And don’t forget, there’ll be the construction traffic too.
Water shortages
We are already aware that low rainfall over the last year has put serious pressure on our water resources in Thanet. We need reassurance that plans are in place to ensure continuity of supply.
The worry is the lack of planning for increased road traffic at Westwood suggests there has been little thought about water either.
